Aquafina vs Dasani pH
Aquafina and Dasani are the two best-selling purified bottled waters in the United States. Both start from public water supplies and use reverse osmosis. They differ slightly on pH, total dissolved solids and whether minerals are added back for taste.
Quick verdict
Both are mildly acidic and neither is alkaline. Aquafina sits around pH 6.0 with very low mineral content (TDS ~4 mg/L). Dasani is slightly more acidic (around pH 5.6) and has higher TDS (~38 mg/L) because magnesium sulfate, potassium chloride and salt are added for taste.

What a mildly acidic pH means
A pH below 7 is acidic, a pH of 7 is neutral, and a pH above 7 is alkaline. Both Aquafina and Dasani sit in the mildly acidic range \u2014 similar to many bottled waters that have been treated by reverse osmosis or carbon dioxide. Pure water exposed to air will naturally pick up CO\u2082 and drop below pH 7.
