What counts as low-sodium water?
The U.S. FDA defines \u201Clow sodium\u201D bottled water as containing less than 140 mg per serving (about 240 mL). The brands above are well below that threshold, with several under 10 mg/L.
Why mineral waters vary in sodium
Sodium content reflects the geology of the source. Some aquifers run through ancient marine sediments and carry naturally high sodium; alpine and volcanic springs are typically much lower.
