Texas Mineral Springs Directory
Texas had a thriving mineral water spa culture from 1880 to 1930. A few of those wells still operate commercially — most notably Crazy Water in Mineral Wells, which has bottled continuously since the 1880s.
Mineral Wells
The home of Crazy Water, sold in four mineral-strength tiers (No. 1 lowest TDS, No. 4 highest). The historic Baker Hotel and Crazy Hotel built the town into a major early-20th-century spa destination.
Marlin
Naturally hot artesian mineral wells discovered in 1891. The town was once a major spa destination; the wells still flow but commercial bottling has largely ceased.
Sutherland Springs
Sulfur-bearing mineral springs east of San Antonio that once supported a spa hotel. Today the site is primarily historic.
Other Texas springs
Hynson Springs (Marshall), Wootan Wells (Bremond), Hanna Springs (Lampasas) and the smaller central Texas artesian wells that fed the original Texas spa circuit.
